Our Mission
Sierra-Tango Sisters was created for girls, by girls!
We believe no girl should have to pursue her aviation dreams alone. Our community of peer mentors help young girls navigate each step of the journey, from your first introductory flight all the way to receiving a private pilot certificate. The journey is exciting but can also be a rocky road: being overwhelmed, confused, and lonely is completely normal.
This is where Sierra-Tango Sisters comes to the rescue!
Flying is by far one of the coolest and most empowering things you can do. We want this process to feel just as exciting as your first flight. Through celebrating each milestone and supporting one another after every landing, we are assuring that no girl has to go through this amazing, yet intimidating, process alone. Our mentors make aviation more accessible, and achievable, for every girl who dreams of becoming a pilot.
Isla Adams, Founder
Isla became interested in flying after she found herself more excited for her flights to volleyball tournaments than the actual tourneys themselves. After leaving the club volleyball world, however, she found the aviation world lonely for young girls like herself. She missed her teammates and all the activities that came with a club community. She also felt overwhelmed with the process of becoming a pilot. Hoping to bring girls together and to simplify the student pilot journey, she created Sierra-Tango Sisters. Her dream is to provide girls with not only mentorship and guidance, but friendship.
